Recipes preserve people, not just ingredients.
The Story Behind the Cards
For a bridal shower, I printed 100 blank recipe cards designed specifically for the bride and groom, in English and Español. We asked women who love them to share something from their own kitchens. Every single card was used.
Then more recipe cards appeared at the wedding reception, and it hit me just how special this simple idea really was.
A recipe written in someone's own hand becomes more than instructions for dinner. It holds the way Grandma made something without measuring, Mom's little note in the margin, an aunt's famous dessert, or the meal somebody always brought when family gathered.
Someday the handwriting may matter even more than the recipe.
That's why I created these free printables. Print them for a shower or wedding. Take them to a family gathering. Sit down with your parents or grandparents and ask them to write down the dishes you never want to lose. Tuck them into a recipe box and let them collect stains, notes, substitutions, and stories.
Write down the food. Write down who made it. Write down the little things you never want to forget.
Because recipes preserve people, not just ingredients.
